To experience some of the best Christmas lights that Perth has to offer, both on land and over water, head down to the City of Mandurah this Christmas!

 

Around 50 minutes south of Perth, Mandurah’s unique, waterlocked surrounding of estuary and coastline provides the setting for an amazing backdrop of festive delights – a Christmas playground to be experienced via boat, on land, or both.

 

 

 

Through December until January 7, the free-to-view Christmas Light trail runs along the Eastern Foreshore and out to Mandurah’s Ocean Marina.

 

 

 

Grab your family and friends for a stroll along the foreshore, taking in the twinkly lights and magical displays. There is also family-friendly entertainment happening each evening until Christmas Eve.

 

 

The City of Mandurah provides a Christmas Light Trail Map on their website. The trail is accessible to all, with ACROD parking available at the Mandurah foreshore, Mandjar Square and at the Marina. Toilets and changing facilities for parents are located along the trail.

 

  

 

If you’re keen for combining Christmas cheer with the perks of a boat trip on hot summer night in Perth, why not continue the light show out on the water? There are many organised boat tours running nightly in Mandurah over the season, or you can even hire your own private boat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you don’t have your skipper’s ticket, the hire companies can often allocate one for you at your time of booking.

 

Pack some drinks and snacks, crank those Christmas carols, and experience a Waterfront Christmas Wonderland as you float around the canals.

 

 

Each year, the Mandurah canal residents seem to out-do themselves in the elaborate quality and care put into their stunning Christmas displays. Get ready to relax on the water, eat and drink in merriment and enjoy the spectacular views.

 

 

 

 

You might even see the local dolphins, who are often spotted getting into the Christmas spirit and playing alongside the visiting boats this time of year.
