Sandpiper Drive (Cnr. This Father’s Day, we were blessed with the unexpected arrival of our beautiful baby girl, Serafina. Born at 36 weeks, she was born via emergency caesarean when we noticed reduced fetal movement. Serafina faced a rare and unpredictable placental defect, which led to a critically low hemoglobin count and reduced oxygen supply. After an emergency delivery, we were confronted with a fear no parent should ever know - the fear of losing our child. Our little warrior underwent three blood transfusions, two hospital transfers, five days on a ventilator, eight days in the Royal Women’s NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and three days in the Special Care Unit at St Vincent’s Private. In the gentle hands of the incredible Royal Women’s NICU team, our little girl received the most extraordinary care. Their compassion and skill gave her the strength to come home - healthy, happy, and thriving. Every Christmas, my parents transform their home into a glowing wonderland of lights to bring joy to our community and raise funds for children in need. Location: Sandpiper Drive (Cnr. Abbott Court), TAYLORS LAKES This year, from 6th December, our lights will shine even brighter, as we are dedicating our display to the amazing NICU team at the Royal Women’s who gave our family hope when we needed it most. Each twinkling light represents a tiny miracle and a grateful heart. ? If you can, please donate to support the Royal Women’s Hospital NICU, so more families like ours can experience that same care, love, and second chance. All funds raised will go directly to the NICU at the Royal Women’s Hospital. From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for helping us light up lives this Christmas. ????????
